August 2010:

Sage Health Centre has almost completed its second phase of renovations including paving and providing a larger group space for clients and community based 12-step meetings.  Painting of exteriors is also occurring this summer and new laundry facilities will be completed this fall.  Sage Health Centre is now 2 1/2 years old and we are beginning to develop plans for the future with the thoughts of expanding our family supports and counselling program in the new year.  We are also going to explore week long "refresher" courses for alumni of Sage who want to look at more advanced recovery issues.  I am truly excited about our transition in the past two years of my time at Sage and believe we are fulfilling our mandate to provide high quality addictions treatment at a reasonable price. 

It is not well understood that Sage Health Centre is a not for profit organization that utilizes any additional proceeds toward improving the buildings and grounds, and in the future, developing a foundation that will assist people who are not able to pay the entire admission cost by providing grants.   Starting in September I will be writing a quarterly column regarding treatment issues and will attempt to answer any questions regarding services at Sage Health Centre; stay tuned for further updates.
